Gomkora Chorten, Bhutan, It is about a 24 km drive from Trashigang, on the road towards Trashiyangtse. Situated on a small alluvial plateau overlooking the river, it is one of the sacred places where Guru Rinpoche meditated in order to subdue a demon that dwelt in the big rock. The temple is renowned for its festival held in the 2nd lunar month.

Taktsang is referred to as the Tiger’s Nest, Bhutan, Taktsang is located on a high cliff towards the north of Paro town. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three months in the 8th century. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon.
